wow, it's been a busy week, the highlight of which was...

MY BIRTHDAY

it was possibly the best birthday ever. i have now entered the 3rd decade, the land of the 20's. it feels good

i had to wake up absurdly early on tuesday (and by early, i mean 9 am) to finish a philosophy paper on plato. my roommates also woke up early so they could give me my presents...gummy butts (you eat them like gummy bears!) and (wait for it...) a vibrator. yep, my roommates are hilarious :)

i had two classes on my birthday, not too bad really. and after they were over i just relaxed and read the economist. no work for me. it was so blissful.

have you noticed just how much a package can brighten up your day? my parents sent me some spectacular audrey-related gifts and two black pens. they know me so well.

i unfortunatley had to go to work, but even that wasn't too bad. i was able to use my brilliant spanish speaking abilities to get a puerta rican woman to pledge money to georgetown. ah the life of a phone whore-- i mean telemarketer.

and after work came the deal breaker...a cake! but not just any cake, an exact replica of the one that was stolen from me! the only difference was that this one was a yellow cake with chocolate icing (because i prefer yellow to chocolate, even though meaghan and tim, the master chefs, would disagree) and the top was decorated with the useful message: DON'T STEAL ME. perfect. the whole evening ended with video games.

and the birthday didn't even end there. the next night, i got to watch some classic west wing with paul, joe, and sam as a little after birthday treat. seriously, could my birthday have gone any better this year? (yes, i'm channeling chandler...)

thanks to everyone for making it so amazing, and here's to a great year! (raises imaginary glass) :)
